Don't gamble on 'video crack' (Newsday)

Gov. George Pataki again has rolled out a failed plan to boost education aid by expanding legal gambling. He has done so despite continued reluctance among some fellow Republicans in the Senate and the outright opposition of key Democrats in the Assembly. It's an idea whose time has come - to die.
